How can I understand God

- see Him everywhere
- listen to Him all the time
- understand that He resides in hearts of everything.
- understand that He is aware of us all the time - day and night, while awake and while asleep.
- see that He controls everything and so see His hands operating everywhere
- remember Him all the time
- being loving to Him
- offering part of my income to disadvantaged, disabled, all those who won't be able to repay me in any kind.
- offering free food to hungry
- offering water to thirsty
- surrendering totally in front of Him
- never praying to get any worldly things
- praying for His love and grace
- praying for His guidance on my spiritual path
- praying to give me strength to sustain hunger, thirst, pain, suffering, losses, insults.
- Praying Him to be there for me to enlighten the path going towards Him.

How can I understand true saints

How I need to behave and relate with true saints?

Its is very difficult to find real saint these days.

Even if I may find him, it might be difficult for me to recognize him as saint.

If I recognize him as saint, it might be difficult for me to understand him, his behavior and very difficult to listen to him.

If I listen to him, it might be difficult for me to remain faithful to him and follow his suggestions regarding practice of religion.

We the common people are disrespectful, selfish, greedy, suspicious, manipulative and dishonest and defensive.

As a seeker, if I find a true saint, I need to

- be respectful to him
- listen to him and not be argumentative
- be honest with him
- be open and transparent with him
- be grateful to him for his presence
- have open dialogue with him
- ask spiritual queries to him
- do not ask for fulfillment of worldly needs
- observe him closely and see how he is different than common people
- learn from him (his selflessness, his oneness with God, his greed-free calm, happy state)
- obey his orders without questioning his integrity.

Healthy relationship with others

- To see everybody as common human being mortal, imperfect, dissatisfied with self and others, confused, having mixed emotions, afraid of death-sickness-disability-disfigurement-dependence-nonacceptance, alienation.

- To be wise and practical while looking at and communicating with others

- Have at par relationships (needs are to be equal)

- Not to hurt anybody with bad intention.

- Not to find faults in others and blame others for own dissatisfaction

- To see that everybody has his/her own path, goal, agenda and has a unique way of looking at self and world.

- I cannot live for others, others cannot live for me.

Understanding myself

- To be kind to my self.

- To be forgiving to my self.

- To be in constant touch with my inner wishes, thoughts and actions following those wishes.

- To see how my greed to have, have more, have forever creates a chain of fear / anxiety / insecurity / uncertainty / manipulation - using all possible resources to get things at any cost.

- To see how I am in conflict of right/wrong, do/avoid.

- To see how I sometimes fail to see : who is behind all within self and around self.

- To make most of this opportunity to uplift myself from filth of resentment, revenge, hatred, fault finding and, blaming.

- To understand that I will eventually leave behind everything including my body and all possessions at the time of death.

- To understand that I will take with me a garbage bag of unfulfilled desires while leaving present body after death.

That might help me keep the garbage to minimum.

Common religion

Irrespective of Geo-location, race, caste, creed, color we can find that saints have created a common religion for all. There are certain basic guidelines in every religion.

They can be classified as -

1) For self

2) In relation to others

3) In relation to saints

4) In relation to God

The saints suggest us to observe these principles so that the God bestows His grace on us.

God has created everything, which we see as good and bad.

He loves us all and is kind to us in His sense of the term/His way.

He favors certain behavior and thereby a basic mental spiritual set up within a seeker.

A common seeker

A common seeker has inherent limitations in practicing hard levels of sadhana and experience higher states of consciousness.

The common seekers lie in between saints and critics.
They forever need guidelines and support from higher level saints and saintly souls.

They know that God is free from any form and beyond any need, yet, because of their love for Him, they convert God into a form-shape-size-personality of their choice. This deity helps them worship God in their own unique way, and help them offer their love and respect to Him.

Majority of them worship God to fulfill their ordinary needs.

If, by grace of God, they come in close contact with a true saint, they are gently guided to love God unconditionally, without asking for any material thing in return.

This new practice of devotion helps them see the limitations of their ability to fulfill all of their wishes.

It also helps them see the limitations of worldly pleasures.

They are thus slowly prepared to seek higher states of devotion. They may harbor love for God, when they eventually die (leave present body).

Types of people

Common people can be categorized into -

1) Simple believers in God

2) Analytically oriented believers in God

3) Non-believers/critics of God

Simple believers are in majority. They follow their religion without any doubt or any effort to understand the basic truth beneath religious rituals.

Non-believers/critics are in high number. They tend to rebel against religion, spiritual practices, temples, churches, mosques, ancient scriptures, saints etc. They are proponents of worldly pleasures and prefer to live so called free life - no rules, no regulations, no customs, no inhibitions, no laws. They do whatever their mind tells them to do, without thinking about consequences. They tend to demean devotees and thereby devalue importance of God.

They unofficially become God themselves and try to control their life. Some continue to live in this dark phase of ignorance till death, some regret at later stage of life.

Analysts are in minority and get invariably confused regarding their faith in God. Very few of them really do research into basic truth, experiment on themselves and customize it as per the relevance to time and location and resources and individual mental make up.

All these various types of people are God's own creation. They behave as per their deeds in their past life.

God has His own way of doing justice to all.

Saints create religion

True saints - such supreme individuals, while being alive in midst of ordinary people and society, do practice and preach religion.

They try to help common people see limitations of worldly love and pleasures.

They try to inculcate love for God into minds of true listeners.

They live a selfless life.

They are very kind and patient and tolerant of ordinary people and their petty life stories.

They suggest a customized practice of religion as per mental make up of the seeker.

They are impartial to all and are true to their words.

They face and sustain lot of jealousy, rivalry, homicidal attempts, disrespect from fanatics.

Ordinary persons often fail to understand them and their behavior.

Very few disciples get close to such holy persons and receive their grace.

Going beyond needs

Saintly disciples try to understand the limitations of worldly pleasures and pain as temporary phenomena.

They see that the ignorance lies in perceiving self as different than God.

They understand that over the period of 88,00000 births, one creates lot of dirt and dust and char over one's soul.

This covering demarcates "I" different than "other" essential for worldly living.

"I" is perceived different, because of body. And, survival of body requires objects and subjects from outside world. Thus, one being dependent on others for survival.

This phenomenon converts everybody into a user, a customer.

To lure and satisfy this eternal customer, infinite needs and means of fulfillment are created.

To go beyond buying and selling, a true saint sees himself as lover of God.

A true lover of God thinks-eats-sleeps-dreams-needs God and whole-heartedly prays for His love.

Eventually, during last phase of his spiritual journey he can exist without food, water, shelter, warmth, money, comfort, sex, entertainment and, social recognition from outside world. His body is kept alive without any supply from outside including air. A true saint disciple can live without breathing in and out. His dependence on outer objects and subjects is cut off. He experiences total happiness-peace-calm.

He is alive in soul in final stages of Samadhi.

The whole process is certainly not an easy journey and it does not happen overnight.
It requires preparations from many many previous births undergoing maturation and lot many years of spiritual practice in his previous birth.

The disciple is tested for his single-minded devotion, at every stage.

He then sees himself as extension of God, not as body. He is beyond any need.
He works for the whole world under direct supervision of God and his Sat-Guru.

His body becomes a vehicle - an outer expression of God.

He leaves his organic body when time comes.

He remains however, alive in eternal existence and thus continues to help true seekers.

Worldly needs

Ordinary people are ordinary because they require air, food, water, shelter, clothing, sex, entertainment, other people, money, all comforts to survive and grow and be happy (at least for the time being). They need lot of love, attention, appreciation, justice, unconditional acceptance from people especially parents, siblings, spouse, kids, friends, boss, colleagues and neighbors and almost every one.

Ordinary people value "I", "mine", "for me", and seek worldly pleasures.

They shuttle between "pleasure" and "pain" as per "fulfillment" or "disappointment" of their worldly wishes. They see God as a provider of pleasure and comfort. They look at Him as a medium to fulfill their worldly wishes.

They look at Him and behave with Him as they would behave with authority figures in their life - mother/father/teacher/boss etc.

They lack the quest about Him, He being a true existence/master.

They forever run after fulfillment of their endless worldly wishes. They eat-dream-walk-think-sleep "wish fulfillment".

They die in dissatisfaction as they do not get chance to fulfill "all" of their wishes.

As a result, they receive new birth to get a chance to fulfill some of the old wishes and in turn unconsciously create new set of wishes.

Thus, this life-death cycle goes on. The soul never dies - it is eternal being a part of God Himself. The outer organic bodies die.

We all get into and get out of "n" number of forms, shapes, and sizes of infinite objects and subjects, present in this animate and inanimate world, that is created by God.

It is said that one takes up almost infinite time while passing through a cycle of 84,00000 (non-human births) and 4,00000 human births, before reaching a final stage of maturity.

The last birth is that of "death of self" and submergence into "All-Mighty".

True saints

God takes up a human form of true saint or Sat-Guru and tries to help seekers of truth and worshipers.
Such seekers are in minority (one in 1,00000).
All of them do not end being saints.
Likelihood of one being a true saint is one in billion.

These saints are born in families who have been devotes for 21 generations. All the forefathers practice spirituality. They inculcate high values in their heir such as truth, honesty, selflessness, kindness, respect towards great saints and devotion to God: a master of universe.

These saintly persons are thus different than other human babies and children of their age during their childhood. They are smart, intelligent, kind, generous, selfless and seekers right from very early age. They see limitations of ordinary school education system in "not" answering their spiritual quest.

During their pre-adolescent stage they come to know that all worldly things are finite and are incapable of providing eternal happiness and peace.

They prefer solitude and are not afraid of demons, witches, darkness, poverty, aloneness, evil spirits etc.

They seek truth: a source of eternal happiness and peace and are desperate to find it: the God within.

As their devotion progresses, they reach a point when a Sat-Guru: a highly evolved spirit visits this new disciple and indoctrinates him/her into deep devotion. The Sad-Guru supervises progress of his chosen disciple and leads him till he becomes totally submerged into God. Its a death of "self" which is perceived other than God by common people.

Ordinary people are incapable of practicing the ordeals these true disciples undergo and the higher states they experience.

The mind and bodies of saints are well equipped to sustain certain hard tests.

The religion

Man created religion.

Yes, but not by ordinary men and women.

Religion is created by True Saints.

Religion they create and pass on to ordinary people is a "Royal Way to get merged into Him".

Common people tend to misunderstand religion as they do not understand and experience God.

Saints are thus different then ordinary human beings. They see, hear, communicate with God everywhere and all the time.

The man

God created man (human beings).

Very few of them can have a quest about life, death, existence, life before and after death, universe, power behind every happening etc.

Some of them seek answers to these questions -

- Where did they come from?
- Where are they going?
- What will happen to them while dying?
- What will happen to them after death?
- Where do all go after death?
- What is right and what is wrong?
- Why can't they control everything?
- Why all of their wishes are not fulfilled?
- What is love? Where will they get it?
- What will happen to their loved ones?
- What will happen to this world, this universe?
- Who has created all this, and why?
- What he/she is supposed to do?
- Why he/she is confused, directionless, unhappy, dissatisfied?
- Where and when and how would he/she will find happiness-peace-balance?

Creation other than Man

The human race is a very very tiny particle within an infinite creation of God.

All animate and inanimate creations except human beings are born-developed-become dead without a conscious understanding about what is happening with them? why is it so? who is behind all this? etc.

The deities and demons that are created by God and live in heaven and hell respectively, are subjected to change their forms, locations, as per their deeds.

Nothing in this world is permanent and stable and secure and unchangeable. Everything is changing, moving, transforming at unknowable speed.

There is a constant reflux between "seen" things (expressed/present) and "unseen" things (unexpressed/apparently absent/dormant/unseeable) in this universe.

Life is a "visible" existence of soul within.

Before-life and after-death are "invisible" existence of soul within.

Nobody knows from where everything came into existence, where everything is going.

The one who knows and governs, is God Himself.

The God

I came to know that God is certainly different than all of us even though He sometimes takes on human form to reach to us.

He

- is here and there and everywhere
- is present all the time (past-present-future)
- is perfect
- is kind
- is complete
- is happiness Himself
- is peace Himself
- is whole and total
- watches and hears everything (is aware of everything)
- is impartial
- is love incarnate
- entertains Himself
- is unknowable
- is un-understandable
- is un-seeable
- is very obvious
- is pure
- controls everything - He is the master
- is the creator-nurturer and destroyer of the infinite world.
- is behind, within, beyond all and engulfing everything.

I love Him immensely.

All the three words are so common and used so repeatedly that the title itself might be boring to start with.

It bored me in my youth.

As I entered in middle part of my middle age (45 - 55), I reviewed these words and saw them from a different perspective.

I found in old scriptures that what I found was not new, I just rediscovered them for myself.
